Favorite Loach

I am wondering what your favorite loach is. I currently have a pakistanI loach and a angelicus loach named Bert and Ernie and probablt getting a dojo or skunk botia loach soon.

I am a fan of Kuhlis all varieties of them.

 

Clown loach all the way! They were my favorite before I knew ANYTHING about fish, I thought they were the most beautiful fish on Fish Tycoon

 

I'm with Khulis, although hillstreams are very cool too. I suppose I don't really know though, never having kept any loaches before.

 

I love my khulies, but I hardly ever see them Wish they were more active with the lights on.

KuhlI Loach I plan to get some for my 29g. I love how they look like eels

 

I like Pangio kuhlis. But clown loaches are adorable too. I wish they came in a miniature version!

someday I will have a tank just for them and get some.

 

I love all loaches. They've got very outgoing personality types. I really love kuhlis though. I've got maybe 20 in one tank. I want more. They are so entertaining to watch! I've got 4 yoyos as well, and they are very funny, too. They dig up my plants with their incessant foraging, so they are at number 2 spot. Awesome fish, loaches!

I love the purple kuhlis, but the clowns are awesome. Wish I had a tank big enough for some of those.

 

yoyo's for sure, skunk loaches are very cute though.

I absolutely loved my Skunk Loach when I had him. Unfortunately he was very aggressive and hitchhiked in on a plant. One day I would love to have an all Skunk Loach tank.

 

I love my khulies, but I hardly ever see them Wish they were more active with the lights on.

I gotta say, I love my dojos. they are the only fish I know that like to play with my fingers in the tank (sometimes this makes my life harder, like while vacuuming, but that's ok). khulis are pretty, but I love my little weather reporters!

 

Khulis all the way! I had 18 in my last tank- for being bottom fish they would swim alllll over my tank day or night. So adorable! And I'm getting some today for my new 29G

 

I've found the black khulis to be more active than the striped kind. Maybe it's a fluke, but my black khulis are out most of the time. They hang out with the dojos which are still as small as the khulis at this time.

 

So difficult to choose!!!! I enjoy both my clowns and yoyos... but since I currently have more clowns than yoyos, I'll choose clowns for the poll. I also really enjoy my kuhlis and pretty much all loach species lol.

the yoyo loache is the PakistanI Loach. I knew that would mess someone up lol.

 

why is it called the pakistanI loach? are they native to that region?

 

yes that is correct but I always call them yoyo's. I think most people do.

 

I have to say it is a tie between kuhlI and yoyos.

 

What is your favorite loach species?

I have always loved loaches as a whole, but personally, Polka Dot/Burmese Border loaches are my all time favorite. They are full of personality, highly curious, and each has its own one of a kind pattern. I also like how they start to jitter and dash around when they smell food hit the water

 

all loaches have big personalities. I currently have yoyo loaches and dwarf loaches. They both are full of personality, active swimmers , My yoyo loaches sometimes annoy my Severum with all the movement and craziness.

 

I like kuhlI loaches because they don't eat snails, and I also love snails.

 

I have kuhli's which I rarely see. I had yoyos which were great but very pushy.
I'd say my favorite are my dojos. They're big and they are out enough that I don't feel like I've wasted bioload (like my kuhlis). The dojos are also super peaceful, even friendly with tiny cories. Their only down side is they need a fairly large tank so that they can have buddies (they really need buddies). I love their cute little whisker faces.

 

My favorites are Kuhli, Java, and Dojo though I have never kept them.

 

Sewelia SEW03- while I love my Yoyos these guys a sight to see when they fight. They spin around each other flapping their wing like fins and can do it for hours. Top it off, the juveniles are black with light brown stripes and it changes to brown with small black polka dots.

 

I love clown loaches currently have 6 want to upgrade to a 140 or bigger and get more loaches and since they live for 20ish years they will be around awhile love watching them school and pile into stuff together as well

 

oooh, oooh! I just joined, and I love my little panda loaches!
