Favorite Food :o)

When I was reading the post about birthday cakes and sweets, I thought of food in general. I am curious what all of you like to eat. What are your favorite foods (any foods you can think of). What food preferences do you have?

As for myself, of course I love Cold Stone ice cream - that's beyond doubt, lol ;D. And in general, I like rather light foods. I love sea food (shrimp, lobster, salmon, crab, etc ...) and lots of vegetables (broccoli, mushroom, Chinese lettuce, carrots, peas, beans, spinach, etc...) and fruit (especially strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, oranges, pinapples, grapes, apples, pomegranates, grapefruits, etc ...). I love mixed steamed vegetables alone or with sea food.

My favorite dishes are, like I said, steamed and sauteed mixed veggies, various sea food dishes (especially shrimp in lobster sauce and with garlic pasta and lemons - so yummy!), spinach roll, and the like

As for meat, I don't really like meat and don't eat a lot of it. The only kind of meat that I will eat is chicken and turkey, but no other meats. I hate steaks and hamburgers! Um ... maybe that's enough. Now your turn What are your favorite foods?

P.S. Has anyone ever tried any cookies by Pepperidge Farm? They've gotta be making the best cookies on Planet Earth, lol. If you haven't tried, try the Chessmen and Milano cookies! YUM!

P.S. I feel a little weird because of the fact that I love fish-keeping, and I also love to eat sea food ... lol. But I always justify this dilemma this way: that the sea food I buy from the store or from a restaurant is dead already, so it's not really my fault! If not me, someone else would have bought it and eaten it anyway, right? However, I would never kill any sea creature myself, never! I could never go fishing either!

Plus, killing fish quickly for food (so that they don't suffer at all) is very different from torturing fish such as dyeing - as I described before in one of my posts.

So, how many of you also like sea food? What kinds of sea food?

Do you hate seafood because you keep fish at home? Or just don't like the taste of it? As for the ice cream, I usually eat only vanillas and coffee, and I also like very much pecan or wallnut ice cream flavors.

How long have you been studying German? It's good to know more than one language fluently

and to tell the truth I don't study german in school yet, next year (9thgrade) I will. I just pick up bits here and there for fun.  ;D

It all sounds good to me.  I, too, am not much of a meat eater; but I do eat fish. (only Cod and Halibut)  I LOVE ice cream and most pies.  Most vegetables and fruits rate very high on my list as well.

I am very fond of the sweet potato (the most complete food according to Prevention Magazine) and we grow them along the side of our alley here.  We honestly had one this year the size of a 2 quart mixing bowl.

Pasta is probably my favorite way to make a meal (mix with veggies, olive oil and black pepper and grate on some Parmesan or cheese of your choice - YUM)

This is a hard topic because it would be so much simpler to say what I do not like.  I really just mostly like FOOD.   ;D

I also hate seafood not because of fish keeping its just that I don't like it. I like sushI though and smoked salmon. For me I like chicken virtually cooked anyway and hot chips.

I grew up in New York and miss the oven baked Neapolitan pizza, bagels, crusty bread, real NY cheese cake, Jewish (Carnegie Deli) and German delicatessans. I remember walking from work on 43rd Street (midtown) with my girl friend (now wife of 20 years) to the lower east side to eat fantastic Chinese food on Mott Street in China Town, then walk a block to Mulberry St. in Little Italy for cannoli's and espresso. Thanks, now I really hungry! ;D

Isabella, You asked "who's likes seaford?" I love it, Clams, oysters, scallops, crayfish, flounder, salmon, tuna, shark, grouper, halibut, lobster, shrimp et al. Yum Yum All varieties of cooking too! I love to experiment when I travel to eat the local cuisine, prepared in the local fashion. A lot of it winds up being or containing fish. My Nicaraguan sister in law make a killer fish stew too! I grew up eating fish sticks and canned tuna fish. As I grew older I became friends with a guy who owns a fish store in Hackensack NJ who turned me on to shell fish. My wife turned me on to shrimp, lobster and scallops. My father in law turned me on to flounder, salmon, shark, grouper and halibut. When I go out on business or even with the family, I usually order fish, as my wife doesn't cook it at home. "Try it, you'll like it!"

Yes we love seafood also. Flounder I think is my favorite. But living in the south we eat more catfish and crappie in the summer and seafood in the winter.

Well, I think the best food I've tried so far would be freeze-dried brine shrimp.

Ohhhh, you mean people food! Hmmm, what do I eat?

I remember feeding the fish flakes for breakfast. Those are pretty good. And man, my rabbit went crazy over that carrot!

Oh, sorry, people food.

Well...

hehehehe sorry guys I'm a little weird

I really like fruit, like strawberries and raspberries especially. Actually, I'll eat whatever I can get my hands on. There's never enough food around here. (Wonder where it went??) (very innocent looking) I love food! My motto is: eat food! (okay, not really) ;D

I have recently discovered a funny craving for cottage cheese with black pepper on it (lots of pepper!). Sounds crazy but it is taking the place of frozen Yoplait Chocolate Cherry Whips. (They quit having them in the store) Bagel egg sandwiches rank #2. Boy, I have to stop or go eat.

I'm not kidding when I say I like pretty much every food on earth. In the spring and summer I catch tons of fish and filet them and my dad and I and family eat them.(its weird that I am obsessed with aquariums and fish but yet I can eat them and clean them) Sorry if you guys think it is discusting to clean them :-\. I love chocolate ice cream I also love sea food.

Grilled cheese - wife goes nuts when I ask for it, as I eat half a loaf of bread on my own with 4-5 sandwiches and a bowl of tomato soup. (I manage to stay at 200lbs and 6'1'' though lol! )

Steak - rib eyes. When the economy was better, we grilled out every other Saturday night and they were always yum. Specially with sauteed mushrooms

Grits, eggs and toast - pile the eggs n grits on your toast and make a messy sandwich

Home-made mac-n-cheese - this dish is my wifes specialty. Nothing is better than this with a stove-cooked burger.

Chicken salad - again great sandwiches!

Caesar salad or house salad - love salads!

I could name tons more.. I love food.
