Favorite flake food?

I’ve been feeding mostly pellet type food to my fish for the last year, but I currently have 2 honey gourami in quarantine that refuse to eat it. I had some tetra brand generic flake food at home that I tried and they did eat that. I’m wondering what those who feed flake food like best.

Any of the Omega One flake food products. The Tetra super color flakes aren't bad either.

 

Thanks I ordered some omega-one flakes on amazon. I’ve been feeding the omega one slow-sinking pellets, but they had no interest. I did try some hikari micro pellets too so I don’t know if they will like the bug bites. I like to offer some variety but I guess I should be happy that they are eating something at this point!

 

My fish have all liked the Bug bites anything.....I have the granules, spirulina flakes and the tropical flakes they gobble them all.

They devour the Spirulina flakes too. Gives them some veggies. I give them some of each when I feed.

 

Hmm I’ll have to look closer. I couldn’t find any bug bite flakes, just the granules, on Amazon. It sounds like everyone’s fish really enjoy that brand though!

 

Opinions on foods for community fish?

I’m sure they will like it! My angels go crazy over it pretty much to the point where I have to put a little on each side of the tank so they won’t fight over it!

 

My serape tetra go nuts over a mix I have in a airtight jar of Tetra min flakes and JBL flakes but that might be a UK thing im really not sure

 

My fish seem to really like the Xtreme Community Flakes and pellets also omega one pellets. My freeze-dried foods are all onega one and frozen foods are either Hikari or San Francisco Bay brand. Also have hikari wafers and some other kind of community pellet

 

I bought some "Extreme" brand flakes the fish like it, the ingredients are good, but they are not as good as omega one.

New life spectrum pellets and bug bite pellets seem to be the Best ingredient-wise and my fish love them. I recently discovered Ron's pellet foods, he has a lot of varieties that really are very different ingredient-wise. This looks like great stuff with actual care put into developing the proper diet for different species. I didn't buy it yet because I have too much fish food already especially since I just made some fish food.

 

New Life Spectrum is so far removed from Omega One... you're talking Rolls Royce vs. Honda Civic here

NLS is never available in my area but I found some excellent quality earthworm flakes in bulk that all my fish eat now. 45% protein with high quality ingredients. Really can't go wrong

I will have frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms too

 

sometimes fish just prefer the cheap stuff. my fish love tetra community, and new life spectrum optimum flakes. I feed my guppys easy fry/small fish food

my corys love shrimp cuisine lol, same with my gourami.

 

Nice. If I ever have Cory fry I am using that stuff

 

My fish seem to like anything I give them. I vary the foods but I would say the overall favourite dry food for all of them (except otos) is probably not the best as far as ingredients are concerned - it is the Tetra colour granules.

 

Kids always love their junkfood.
