Favorite Artist/song

I desperately need some distraction from all the ridiculous things happening this week/today. So everyone tell me your favorite artist or song at the moment.

Right now, I've been obsessed with Tyler Childers, Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton (these are all country music artists, I've been on a country kick lately)

Right now, Gov't Mule, TedeschI Trucks Band and Dead & Company. Could be because I happen to go to all of those shows this summer. I listen to a lot of different types of music though, from Metal to Bluegrass and a lot in between. I am not a big country fan, no opera, no gospel, no pop.

Tyler Childers kind of has a bluegrassy feel to his music. You may like him! Not the others I mentioned though lol. I also listen to almost everything, not big into metal or similar stuff though

Used to be logic, then he got political. Now I like just songs by people. Molly- Lil Dicky (None of his other song) and Post Malone is really good too

Honestly I could care less if he likes certain people or not. its just I don't think he should force feed people his views. that's just me. (Don't forget the new rules on political views on the forum, lets drop this thing here soon.)

Hmm. At the moment my favorite song is The Few Not Fleeting by Nothing More. (Rock)

But if you want something relaxing, Gregory Alan Isakov’s album called ‘That Sea, The Gambler’ is really nice and might be up your alley. It’s more folk music I guess. I like to put it on when I’m stressed out.

I really don't keep up with anything outside of their music, so not even sure what you're talking about lol. Is he the one that had the song about something kind of political?

Got into an Elizabeth Cotten groove yesterday and listened to most everything Spotify has on her. Pretty good upside down guitar player who became an overnight sensation about 50 years ago at the age of 85 or so. Anyway, because I know there is a limited appeal for genuine article old timey music, here is
.

I can't say I've ever really listened to jazz lol

What do you consider "old timey" music? That's crazy that she became known at that age!

I don't often listen to old country but sometimes I do, I just can't continually listen to it lol. I listen to old music every day though, just not country

20's, maybe into the 30's. Mostly beginning when record companies sent recording engineers into the hinterlands and ending when that very thing destroyed regional music.

The Dead South(in **** I'll be in good company) always a good listen, kinda blue-grassy, otherwise KISS usually cheers me up, or most 80s cheesy synth-pop

Speaking of Old Timey, I may not get another chance to mention my forum username derives from Gid Tanner and the Skilletlickers, rock stars of their day, and my fish, Sara and Maybelle are named for Sara and Maybelle Carter of the Carter Family, probably the most enduring group from those years.

I love Billy Joel, David Bowie & Queen. I like the one song "beds are burning" by Midnight Oil as well, and don't forget 80s music!

Edit: I like occasionally listening to some pre-Beatles rock as well.

I don’t think I’ve heard much of Billy Joel or David Bowie but I do like Queen! I will listen to Bohemian Rhapsody and sing at the top of my lungs with it every day

Imagine Dragons, George Ezra )), Teddy Swims, Ariana Grande (mostly her old stuff, cuz her new songs are low-key trash), and AJR. For rap it's only NF.
That sums up my "normal" music interests.
I mostly listen to EDM, so here's a few of my favorites: Tiesto, KSHMR, REZZ, Teminite, Aero Chord, Marshmello, and Kygo to name a few. I listen to over 120 different producers regularly, those are just some of my most listened.

Well, KISS is my all-time favorite. Got to meet them a few months ago while doing security for their concert! Also big fan of bands such as Garbage, Metallica, etc. Not too much modern stuff on my list...

Kiss and Metallica are the only ones listed so far that I've ever heard of. Creedence Clearwater Revival and Lynyrd Skynyrd (their "Ballad of Curtis Loew" is probably my favorite song) are some of my favorite bands.

For something completely different, I'm also a big fan of Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys. I doubt if many people under the age of 60, and/or not from Texas would enjoy it, but you never know.

If only CCR an Skynyrd came through here again. Would LOVE to work those shows! I have missed a lot of good shows to work because of the COVID....was supposed to be working the likes of Elton John, Cher, Beach Boys, Chicago and several much more modern acts this spring/summer...

I love TØP too! I don’t listen to them as often as I used to though.
I’m kind of disappointed in myself right now bc I don’t really have a specific music taste now. I just listen to what I feel like listening, but that make it hard to pick what to listen to lol.
I think right now my favorite artists would be Rihanna, Kali Uchis, Ariana Grande, Daria Zawiałow, Dawid Podsiadło, Yungblud, The Weeknd, ASAP Rocky, Tyler the Creator, Childish Gambino, Labrinth, and probably any songs from Euphoria lol. I just realized none of these are bands though
Actually I think the only bands I currently listen to are Chaos Chaos, Nirvana and sometimes 311.

I’m an 80s gal also. Some of my other favs are Queen, Tom Petty, INXS, and The Cars. But I also like Incubus (Drive is my fav), Pink, and Greta van Fleet. And going back to the 60s, you can’t beat The Beetles.

Haha Greta Van Fleet is from Michigan. I think they sound a lot like Led Zeppelin.....At least the singer.
