I really love how this plant closes up at night and flattens out when the light comes on.

It was packaged as Scarlet Temple at Petco in one of the little plastic Pouches.

Ludwigia palustris is my personal favorite! I watched my plant turn from a dull green to a striking vibrant pink-red in a matter of days. I really love red plants

Red plants definitely break up the green monotony.

Right now we only have a Banana Plant, and have to admit I'm liking this plant a lot.

Its not really a plant but... MARIMO BALLS!! I even named mine Kevin and Andrea! Terrestrial, I'd say asparagus fern - its so soft! Or physalis - yummyyy!! Proper Aquatic plant, I'd go for Anubias Nana. First plant, and I still love it! Hardy, easy and beautiful!

Dwarf lily. I just love the big red leaves! Very striking. Cabomba furcata comes in a close second, although I'll never have the skill to attempt that one.

I'd also have to say that I'm quite fond of all varieties of anubias. You can never go wrong with anubias

Hey all! Please post your favorite Aquarium Plant, with a picture! (Your own picture not one from Google please!)

Also a brief description of High Light vs. Low light and/or whether co2 is needed would be a helpful bonus!

I'm excited to see all of your lovely plants!!

(Please move thread if improperly placed!!)

My best growing plants are my anubias and my dwarf lily (rubra), my favorite of those two are my two anubias pinto plants.

image.jpg my more white pinto in my downstairs tank.

image.jpg Rubra in the same downstairs tank, I'm seeing if the plant likes this tank (my other tanks the plant is in are both low light, with shrimp and mostly snails in them.) Anubias are low light, but the pinto needs a touch more to get the mottled look to its leaves - I have two, one is more green the other more white but both of them have grown new leaves which is always exciting.

Hygrophila Pinnatifida
I have had plants that will grow on driftwood before, but this stuff will actually send roots down into the wood, rather than just around it. It's insanely fast growing and I love the copper/burgandy color.
I have medium to high light and CO2, but I believe these guys would be alright with medium light and excel. Although, I am sure that growth would slow.

Nymphaea 'Red Tiger Lotus'
Lighting roughly 0.5 watts per litre.
CO2 requirements, I use Seachem Excel.
It's kinda fast growing especially under high light and once a few leaves reach the surface, it will be difficult to get underwater growth again. Mine has two leaves at the surface with another three to follow (I bought it to provide shade for my barbs) and I've had it for a month now.
The picture is from 2 weeks ago.

We have fish, betta, tanks and planted tank forums but none on plants. What is your favorite plant and what is your fastest growing plant?

Mine is my hygro willows. I started with 3 a month ago and now have 6. My shortest stems I cut 4 days ago and they already have 3 leaves. My bigger willows I swear grow a few inches a week and sprout multiple leaves a week. I'm just loving them!!!!

I love water wisteria, it looks so cool and grows quickly.
My fastest propagating plant is java fern, it spits out a new baby plant every day.
My fastest growing plant is anacharis.

Hands down my favorite aquarium plant is the Madagascar lace plant. I had one several years ago. It thrived until it went in to its dormancy stage and then never came back.

1a. Mr. Betta used it as a hammock.

1b.

1c. An otto cleaning a leaf.

2. You can see it in the back center right. It was still small in this photo. Fully grown the leaves get very tall. This was a 44 gallon pent.

Thank you bettafanatic

I loved that aquarium. But I made the mistake using Ecocompleat substrate. I got a massive attack of fungus that I could not bring under control and had to tear it down Mr. Betta lived a good life and then swam on to join his ancestors.

My favorite is posgotemon helferi. Grows out and up and adds a lot of contrast. It would make a good carpet if you had enough. Not everyone has it either.

Anubias Nana Petite is a favorite - love the small, rounded leaves as well as the compact growth, hence, I also love Buces.
