Faucet Adapter

Hello.

Here recently we got a new sink and countertop installed. Being that we rent, we did not pick anything out. That being said, after installation, I go to hook up my water changer and it does not fit the new sink.

I could probably find what adapter I need, but it might take a while or multiple tries. So I'm asking for help.

What kind of adapter should I look for to put one of these connections

Onto this faucet

This is what happened when I tried to hook it up.

If it matters, I'm using the Aqueon water changer. Not a Python. Thanks for your time and any help.

I think they both are garden hose thread. I took my screw on strainer piece and went to lowes and matched it up.

You use the Aqueon water changer too? What did you end up finding, and what is the diameter of your faucet?

My faucet has the threads on the inside instead of the outside like yours.

Well crud. Did you find a one piece adapter or connection or rig something up? Maybe I could find one with opposite threading.

Yea mines just one piece. They have a big selection of adapters. So if you take the piece off your faucet and the piece from your water changer it shouldn't be too hard to match something up. Depending what they have it may take 2 pieces.

I tried that today. I didn't see any one piece adapter or a way of putting two together, and had two employees act like I'm stupid.

Is your adapter plastic or metal?

Metal. The employees acting like your stupid doesn't surprise me, I have lost all faith in humanity. Lol. Do you know the brand of the faucet? We may be able to narrow down what you need from there.

We may be able to find a bushing to make your current adapter work.

Yep. It's a Delta Lorain, and I believe it's a 3/4" diameter.

Have you tried your water changer on the faucet with out any adapter?

Oh yeah. The faucet is a male thread, so the smallest adapter won't work. The middle is too big, and therefore the attached female connection is also too big.

From what I can find you need to go from 3/4 male straight thread to garden hose. I will keep hunting and see if I can find the adapter.

Thank you. I'm trying too, but I can't really tell much online.

Even though that's for a Python? Surely there's something else. No disrespect or anything, that just looks kind of janky. I don't like the plastic end or the short threads on the other.

Both share the same end. The end the water exchanger goes on looks just like my adapter. Its a simple design, you slip over the rubber hose and tighten the hose clamp. Crude but effective. I'm sure there is a screw on adapter so hopefully you can find on or a bushing to make one of your current adapters work.

Your water changer hose uses a 3/4" Hose Fitting. The threads on the faucet look like they might be 55/64". Go to the Home Depot website and do a search for "faucet adapter to 3/4 hose". After the results come up look for this fitting: 55/64 in. Female x 3/4 in. Male Solid Brass Hose Adapter

I found an adapter at a hardware store. Show them your faucet picture. I told them I needed it to adapt to a garden hose. They had it.

The sink is 3/4". The size has been checked multiple times.

I took the water changer adapter and the aerator from the facet in. They acted like I was stupid and said it was impossible.

Try a different hardware/plumbing store and look for an old guy, preferably grumpy. They forgot more stuff than you'll ever know. He should be able to find the adapter you need.

Here's what I have: I bought the diverter off of Amazon, it screws to the kitchen faucet and has a lever so the faucet can either be used normally or diverted to come out the side. The side thread was 3/4" NPT (nominal pipe thread),. The brass adapter is 3/4" NPT to 3/4" Hose Thread. Don't know if that helps or not.
The knurling is what screwed onto the male kitchen faucet.

Hahaha. I second the old grumpy guy. Their usually the most knowledgeable. They have to be grumpy though. Just old isn't the same. Lol

So, I went ahead and ordered this one. I figure it doesn't matter how it works as long as it does. Got it today and it does indeed hook up. Thank you for your help. Now I can look forward to water changes again.
