Fast day for Discus

It's my first time keeping discus so I need help from experienced discus keepers. Currently they are 2" size. I feed them twice daily as much as they can eat in 5 minutes & remove the leftover.
I have two questions:
Do I need to increase number of feedings?
Should I fast them for a day to allow them to clear their digestive system?

1. You can feed them once a day instead of twice a day.

2. It's best to fast them for a day.

Don't they need to be fed multiple times a day for them to grow fast?

Yes they should be fed multiple times a day. Breeders feed them 3-5 times....mine are larger now so I feed twice. A day of fasting can be good for any fish.

Only time I’ve ever fasted my discus so far was if I was away . At the 2” size you want to feed them a lot if you want them to grow big. I fed mine 6+ times a day till just recently. Now it’s 3 times a day. They are about 8 months old.

Thanks! First of all, Wow they're gorgeous!!
It's not possible for me to feed them 6 times as I am at work for most of the day. I can do max 3 feedings. How fast will they grow at 2-3 feedings a day? Also whenever I feed them I noticed their bellies are big & plump, so I asked if it is good to fast them for a day. I feed blackworms & hikarI bio-gold. I keep temp at 83F & lights on for 8 hours as the tank is planted.

My work schedule was crazy over the summer when I got my discus .I fed them 2 times a day as that was what I could .
I don't fast any of my fish but I am trying to grow them .
Lots of food and clean water for first 6 months then you can settle back a little and see how they are ..That is for most any fish IMO .
I got my discus 3 inches [a small 3 ] and they are breeding already with the largest 4-5 inches easy ..
I feed blackworms Freexe dried and grow crumbles [slow sinking granules]..

Bob79 looks like you're off to a great start. Very pretty Discus. Is the pictured rock in the tank honeycombed limestone?
