Some people say drip acclimation. I do the same as I do for fish - mixing small amounts of tank water with the bag water until it's mostly tank water, or for about 1-2 hours.

I was so stressed, I forgot to add any water to the bag. I also couldn't get one shrimp out of the dry bag, and had to shake him out.
Well, I'll probably never have luck with my shrimp.

Or, if you acclimate them properly, you might have better luck next time. Your issues could easily be related to the lack of acclimation, and if that's the case, your issues would be preventable.

If they all end up dead, I am sticking with Ghost Shrimp for now.

I wanted to add this driftwood to my, tank and eventually add live plants into the scape.
This driftwood was labeled as ZooMed Mopani, and can I put it in?

Thanks, it's loaded with tannins so I'll change the water more often to keep them at a lower state.

Here's the tank!

Alright, so today. The water is a reddish color, because of the tannins.
I really like it still, and I'm going to add some rocks today.

The mopanI seems to have grown a bit of white fungus. Is this because it's new to being in an aquarium?

Yes. It's fine, it won't hurt the fish. It'll go away eventually.

This is the first time I have experienced this.
It's grown in large clumps.
