Famous people don’t have time for fishkeeping lol

And/or would have other people manage their fish keeping needs and would not be posting on forums, most likely. They would have their own fish experts come to their homes and treat their fish, etc.

 

Here’s the thing.
None of us has encountered (confirmed) these mythical “famous people” here on fishlore, soneither a) they’re not here, or b) they are here but don’t want it known.
If I was famous, and had not shared my real name here, that would mean I’d made a conscious decision to remain anonymous.
So I’d be sitting there (on my gold toilet) reading this forum and still not saying anything. And this (read all above) is what this thread would look like. And I’d laugh and laugh.

Why give advice for free when u can (at least have the potential to) profit from it on your own platform? If you want to reach him, you have to go thru his site or socials. If he was on fishlore (or made it known he was), that’s traffic that might never get to his site. That’s just good business.
So cynical, I am.

A lot of big time youtubers do mention that they use forums of some sort. I can't remember which vid, but Jenny from solid gold did mention they use forums... and joey has his forum.

I think it depends on your definition of "famous". Not sure about this place, but on another forum I met several very well known ichthyologists and hobby authors, even had conversations with them at conventions.
