Eye problems/changes after pop eye

kstots

I believe my German blue ram got pop eye after what I believe was an eye injury during quarantine. He started off with ich and I was treating with heat and Super Ick Cure. The other male was chasing him a lot and got physical once. I separated them and the next day I noticed his one eye swelling and clouding. I started the tank on Lifeguard (which I generally treat all my fish with) and API fin and body cure. It didn’t seem to help and after a couple of days I noticed the eye was getting fuzzy white. I then started on Fungus Clear, which was the only anti-fungal that I had quick access to. After one dose of that, continued antibiotics, continued ich treatment, addition of aquarium salt, and numerous water changes his eye is no longer swelling and only a little white remains at the edges. Now his eye looks black and I can’t tell if he even has any eye left. It only looks like a black socket or the pupil is enlarged.

He is finally eating again, his color is improving, and he is coming out of hiding regularly. He even is trying to interact with the female on the other side of the divider which he hasn’t done since I separated them. We are still battling and treating ich as the female has it now. The other male in the tank has not been effected to this point. We are also having a mini cycle because of all the medications. Even with all of that, I am happy to see he is out and interacting again.

Now I am curious about his future and his prognosis. My original plan was to put them all in my 75 gallon tank when they are done in quarantine. It is well planted and has plenty of hiding spots and areas to find their own territory. Now I am not sure if I should, especially if he only has sight in one eye. Beyond the 75 gallon I have a 20 gallon tank that has 2 mollies, 3 guppies, and 1 oto. I also have a 10 gallon tall tank that I am currently cycling with plans for a shrimp tank. I’m open to any suggestions.

Also if anyone has seen an eye that looks like this, can you tell me what the long term effects will be? I’d greatly appreciate any input on the prognosis or what I can do to help him.

I have added some pics of him, both his good eye and bad, and of my 75 gallon tank so you can get a better idea of where his planned final home was.
