Extremely fertile nerite problem

Hello everyone,
I got a single olive nerite about a month ago from my LFS. Even though the nerite is the lone snail in a freshwater tank, she has found a way to have over 20 live snail babies that are thriving. She is also constantly laying eggs around the tank which I believe are fertile as well since I see snail babies of various sizes scurrying around the tank. Now I have a few questions.
1) Is she actually a nerite snail? Are the babies nerite as well or just potential hitchhikers? (See pictures)
2) Will she stop laying eggs at some point?
3) I have a 2.5 gallon tank that I may end up putting the mom and some of the babies in since I dont have the heart to kill them. Will that tank be too small for multiple snails?
Any input on this would be appreciated, thank you!

Also excuse the bareness of the tank, I’m prepping for a move atm

They're hitchhikers.

Any idea what kind?

Not sure about what kind, but they are DEFINITELY not nerites. Might want to separate the nerite to another tank and somehow get rid of them (unless you want them, of course) because they will keep reproducing until they have taken over your tank.

Malaysian trumpet snails are actually pretty nice to have with sand or fine gravel. They spend all their time borrowing into the substrate and will move around the material so gas doesnt build up. It's not common but it does happen. I saw a thread here the other day where someone had an "explosion" of gas from under their substrate! Dirt went all over their plants and everything haha. Although, they are considered pests by most, so if you do decide to keep them make sure not to overfeed or you absolutely will end up with a snail problem

Nerites will lay eggs in a freshwater tank but the eggs won't hatch. Photo #1 looks like a ramshorn. Photo #2 looks like a trumpet snail. I can't tell anything from photo #3. Both ramshorns and trumpets can over run a tank in a very short period of time.

Snails in controlled numbers are good for a tank but keeping them under control isn't always easy. I keep assassin snails in my tanks. They help me control the number of other snails. They will also breed but I've not been over run with them. When I get too many I sell a few.

Everybody above pretty much covered everything, but for future reference, nerites need saltwater to have babies, so you don't have to worry about that.
