Extra Filter For 240 Tank

Ok so I have a juwel rio 240 currently the only filtration is the filter that came with it. There is a dead spot just in front of the filter where poop collects. I'm not sure how great the filter is. I would like to add another filter.

Ideally it would
be an internal filter
be cheap as possible while still being high quality
be available in uk
be able to customize the filter media

So can anybody recommend a good brand? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Edit: An adjustable flow would be a plus

If you're in the U.K. check out All pond solutions, they have a good range of filters at reasonable prices.

Check out online websites and than you post filters you interested in. This way people don't have to do everything for you.

I run a Aqua Clear 50 on my 60 gallon with an added sponge filter. It keeps up with the help of air stones in dead areas

Check out the gph post and decide based on your budget.
Why does it have to be internal?

Edit: consider canister filters and check on walmart or amazon or lfc (found it to be cheaper in my country)

Coradee thanks I have looked at them. They seem to have good reviews. What do you think of them?

Innocent159 thanks Aqua clear filters look good. It doesn't have to be internal but I feel more comfortable with them. I have never had a HOB filter but I feel like it wouldn't get any of the waste off the bottom

You can extend the intake of the hob. Filters are personal preference so what ever you decide as long as you have the correct gph rate. I had an internal submerge filter and now hob. Hob has more room for different type of filter.media but canister has more than the hob.

With your tank a lot of people opt for canister or sump because of the room at the bottom (if I google the correct tank)

I'm confused about GPH. Some say you need 10x the amount others say different. As I say I am not extremely experienced with filters, we just made our own for the pond!

How would you go about extending the intake? I don't understand how a HOB would work with the aquarium lid. I know I'm just being stupid.

The cupboards in my tank are filled with fish stuff, no space for a sump

What I did was cut my plastic canopy.. Don't think you would do the same. Read the article on gph. They more experience than both of us.

Internal submerge filters is also good but I don't like the look of it and taking up space.

Okay I've just spent 15 looking for the article on GPH. Where is it? Or even better I don't suppose you could post a link to it? I'm relatively new to this site. Thanks again
