External Filter For Nano-tank

I am working on a new project for a planted nano-tank which is 22 litres (5.8 US gallons) and I have been thinking of using an external filter for it, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good sized filter with an adequate flow.

Thanks!

I'm also interested in this! I haven't tried it yet, but I've read some good things about the Zoo Med Nano 10 canister. Hoping someone with actual experience will chime in.

I've had some experience with the Fluval tank, they are cracking little things! wish I had the space to use one as my nano haha!

Looks like the Marina S15 would be the best thing. Holds a ton of media, flow control and will start after a power fail.

Here's how to **** that filter.

I was on the fence about the SunSun 603B at first, but after removing the polishing pad that plugged up quick it's been working fine again. I also swapped the firm tubes it came with for clear ones from Home Depot because they were a little more flexible and easier to work with. I have two of these canisters running now, on a 5.5 gallon and a 7 gallon and I am absolutely thrilled with how great the tanks are doing. So much clearer and better water quality than they were with HOBs.

I have to say unfortunately I cannot use a HOB due to the space from wall to tank back in the location of my nano, however thank you very much! I will look into the S15 for another project I have in mind

I will look into the SunSun 603, if it fits my needs hopefully I can find one in the UK or get one imported in from a site What are the seals like and the flow rate on the 603B ? Will it be rather powerful for a 12" x 12" x 12" tank?

Sunsun 602/3B 106 gph 400 lph may be too much for that small a tank.

You only need 2 inches for the Marina to fit behind your tank.

I will look into the Marina a bit and will save it back as a definite possibility if I cannot find a canister filter, I have always been a little dubious about HOB filters due to past experiences of them overflowing due to maintenance, but that more than likely was user-error on my part; as I have had very little experience with them in comparison to Canisters.

The 603B only does 106gph max. At full blast it's been fine for the 5.5 with guppies. Enough that there aren't dead zones, but it's also not blowing the fish around. It comes with both a nozzle and spray bar depending on what you prefer.

I'm having a little look around online but struggling to find one of the SunSun for sale in the UK (with a reasonable price compared to what US sites sell it for)

Well this is what Amazon over here has to offer.

I will scout around abit more on the sunsun and see if I can't find one, if not any canister filter that puts out the same lph should suffice as a last resort?

I've noticed the Sunsun goes by several brand names depending on who is selling it. It's the cheap white PVC canister with the pump coming up the side.
