Excited to finally see Zuchini being Eaten

Hello Everyone,

I always worry that my Otto's are starving because they ignore the algae waffers and just recently I saw one of my ottos chasing a fish (I think he/she was trying to eat the slime off the fish). I've been putting zucchinI in my tank recently since I've been harvesting from my vegetable garden and always being ignored by the ottos. Finally I saw one chowing down on it, then another one swam on top it. Hopefully it will catch on to the other 10 ottos.

 

My room mate has an African Cichlid Tank and his recently been adding diced Zucchini.. They didnt really pay any attention to it for a while but they now have a good munch on it, same as the Plecos.
I'm glad your fish caught on.. especially if its from your own garden, nice cheap food source

 

Exactly....At least someone is eating the Zucchini...Don't get me wrong, I love zucchinI but I can't eat it every day. Been getting a lot from the garden.

Gives me peace of mind, I always wonder if they are starving (which I know they aren't because they are all alive and plump).

 

At first mine didn't want it either but I left it in the tank for 24 hrs and they seemed to love it! They basically just sat on it all day eating and pooping, eating and pooping. I had cooked it before putting it in but maybe it just wasn't soft enough and needed to soak? just yesterday I gave them cooked broccolI stems and they loved that too. I also have a garden that keeps me knee high in zucchinI so I'm really glad they like it
