Ever Feed Your Fish Live Mosquito Larva? Here's One Under A Microscope!

I wasn't sure where to put this. I found some in my jarrarium and decided to stick it under one of my microscopes. It was more gross than I anticipated lol

Mosquito larvae are some of my favorite live food to use. It's an awesome conditioner. Very cool to see one magnified.

 

Yeah for sure! My son's betta goes absolutely nuts for the things.

It looks like a big, wet booger.

 

I used to feed mosquito larvae, then I got Hydra. Now I'll never feed live food unless it is from a controlled culture indoors. I did love it though! It was fascinating watching the wigglers develop into pupa! Every now and then I would get an elephant mosquito and release it back into the wild.
