hI folks, after a rather quiet weekend I have some money left over and am (this time) going to put it to good use. this is what I have in the way of supplies. but... was wondering if there is anything essential I am missing to keep up to date with maintenance and healthy fish..
mylist is as follows
1x gravel vac
1x fish food
1x bucket for water changes
1x fish net
1x apI test kit
1x bottle of water conditioner
2x thermometer (1x digI 1x analog)
1x diary for writing down results of tests and temps

so what's missing for the average fish cabinet

thanks fishloreans

Your list looks pretty good! I would suggest an algae scraper of some sort. You can get one pretty cheap, but I prefer the mag floats. They are easy to use. Some amquel plus would be good to have on hand for emergencies when you have an ammonia or nitrite spike after 6:00 on a Sunday when the stores are all closed.

oh I knew it was worthwhile to post this one. thanks gunnie. I'm going online to see if we get this stuff and a mag cleaner.

Might want to pick up an extra heater. It seems they always go late at night or on weekends. Maybe even a small QT just in case.

Big sale on fish tanks at Thatpetplace. $1 per gallon, only ones I seen listed are 75 and 125 gallon ones. Sale starts around St. Patty's day. Only if my wife kept her van instead of getting a jeep :'(.. I called her at work today and told her about it and it did'nt go over to well,lol..That price is just for the tank(glass).

My 120 gallon is only 5 feet but it's really deep,I would luv to get a 6 footer that is'nt to hard to get into. I will be working on the bathroom this week end, replacing the tub n shower,so maybe if I don't hook up the water to the new one ,I can use it as leverage to get another tank, lol.

So does your wife read your posts? She may show you and use your tank instead of that tub! Good luck. The other day I was in my LFS and they had a 125 g tank for $593! I didn't stand around long enough to know what it included, but my impression was that it was just the tank! I want a bigger tank, but at that rate, it will be quite a while. I hope you can take advantage of the sale.
