I have a 10 gallon, heavily planted (real plants) tank. It has on male Betta and two black racer Nerites.
I change the water 50% once a week and started having some brown algae buildup quickly in between cleanings. (That’s when I added the snails for maintenance.)
They are doing an incredible job keeping the algae at bay and it’s almost TOO good. I am wondering if they have enough algae to sustain them? I added an algae wafer the other day but I found my Betta feasting on it! He ate almost the entire wafer. I had to take it out because he wouldn’t stop.
The Nerites’ poop has color in it so I am assuming that means they are getting food, but I’m wondering if they will eventually run out of algae or there won’t be enough for them? Wondering how I can tell they are okay.
