Enough Food For Snails?

I have a 10 gallon, heavily planted (real plants) tank. It has on male Betta and two black racer Nerites.

I change the water 50% once a week and started having some brown algae buildup quickly in between cleanings. (That’s when I added the snails for maintenance.)

They are doing an incredible job keeping the algae at bay and it’s almost TOO good. I am wondering if they have enough algae to sustain them? I added an algae wafer the other day but I found my Betta feasting on it! He ate almost the entire wafer. I had to take it out because he wouldn’t stop.

The Nerites’ poop has color in it so I am assuming that means they are getting food, but I’m wondering if they will eventually run out of algae or there won’t be enough for them? Wondering how I can tell they are okay.

They will always scavenge an algae wafer at lights out will put the betta off and you can remove any left over the following morning. Do it once or twice a week you can also put some lettuce on the bottom this will also substitute their food

I had the same problem with my Betta eating the snails food, I have found that he does not bother boiled chard or kale or cucumber ends (as long as they are not so boiled that they fall apart). But I can’t even get my nerites to eat anything besides algae, they won’t even touch any kind of veggie I put in there.

Its obvious your nerites are content and there's enough algae in they don't need any substitute, that can't be a bad thing

Yea, my mysteries won’t even touch algae though, they want parsnips and squash, lol.

My main question is: will the algae ever run out or become too sparse? The tank is much cleaner now than ever (algae-wise) and I’m unsure if the algae growth will keep up with the demand of the Nerites.
