Endler Guppy Mix

I’ve been thinking about this for a bit, that I want to start breeding make endlers with female guppies to make hybrid fry. I am not totally sure it’s the greatest idea though. I know that SO many people breed guppies that they’re becoming less hardy and they don’t sell easy, but maybe the hybrids would because they’re less common? I don’t know. Has anyone breed guppies and endlers before?

Alot of the more fancy endlers on the market have guppy blood in them..

I've heard it done before, and tinkered with it before-
apparently they are more outgoing than 100% pure guppy?

Virtually all of the "endlers" being sold are actually endler/guppy crosses. It could be tricky to get hold of pure endlers. If you do then it probably wouldn't be advisable to cross them with guppies since there are a limited number of pure endlers and people generally want to keep the strains pure.

Oh wow. Well are you able to tell if mine are pure endlers or hybrids?

Both look like something that would be an N-class endler.

Well, picture 1 shows a chili endler (aka red scarlet endler). Chili endler is a fancy strain and a hybrid. So, that can't be an N-class endler nor a pure endler.
The second picture shows a black bar endler. Hard to tell wether this is a N- or K-class endler. While outcrossing black bar endler with a guppy strain, the black bar traits are pretty dominant in passing on to the next generations. After a couple of generations phenotypical black bar endler males will show up and you won't see the difference between a wild Cumana version. Unless, the swords are too long, then it's obvious that they're hybrids. Coloration in the dorsal or translucent dorsals do show up in both wild and fancy specimens.

I've been crossing out both endler x guppy multiple times. With the exception of what happens in my mutt tank, all other crosses are conscious crosses. So, with a specific goal on traits.
If you're crossbreed randomly, the chance on failures on the intended traits is huge. Doesn't mean that they're not good looking specimens but if you want to breed certain traits, you should know something about their genetics. And try to linebreed.

My understanding is that N class must have registered records. Therefore, even if it is actually pure, it is not considered N class with our the records. Do I understand that accurately?

That's correct. In that case it should be considered being P-class.
