Well, my bettas didn't fare well in my absence this summer. I started the summer with six... I now have three and I'm pretty sure only Trey is of the original six. The girl who was keeping them for me decided to just give me all the remaining bettas in the house - there was a major heat spike in June or July and the temp fluxuation resulted in the deaths of at least a few of the others . I don't blame the girl, she did much better than my mom would have. My babies are all hanging out in 1 gallon jars until I get some more tanks cycled; I don't know where in the WORLD I'm going to put my second 10 gallon but at least I'll get a couple of 5g's up asap.
Anyways, I named the blue/green/black metallic Charlemagne, but I can't come up with anything good for the other new male, who is red with slate blue on the end of his tail. The overall effect is that he is somewhat purple. His tail kind of reminds me of a fairly crinkly crepe-paper like flower, but I can't think of any species name (much less a manly one)... any suggestions?
