Emperor Sharks Question

This is purely out of curiosity due to the fact that I plan on getting several fairly large tanks in the future and was wondering on what size tank would fit one nicely as well as what anyone has seen them sell for in their LFS or other fish stores. And if you know of an online store you can buy them from, a link would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Emperor sharks AKA Paroon shark(Pangasius sanitwongsei) Are NOT suited to any sized tank that would fit in a house. They just don't do well.

Absolutely not. I had a couple in a huge pond but I eventually had to rehome them. They can get up to 10ft long and over 600lbs. They do not belong in tanks of any kind. They are normally grown for food, not as pets.

Yeah, don't mean to sound all godish over it, BUT if you are getting bigger tanks, like 150-300gals then Bala sharks are a smaller option that look very very similar. They still get HUGE but they have been known to do better in aquairia then paroons, who apparently just shut down.

Yeah, I have a baby Bala Shark in my tank now. I look forward for him to get bigger so I can upgrade to a nice big tank!

Sounds good. Its unfortunate with paroons because some stores may sell them as balas or say they stay small, but a fish that has potential for 8+ feet and over 800lbs....YIKES. Make sure to get your bala some friends when you upgrade.
