Emergency: Clown Loach Ich

One of my clown loaches has ich. At first I tried curing it manually to no avail. I need suggestions, medicine, anything! At this point it is laying on its side labored breathing and at time it struggles to rise before falling back down on it's side. Help!

 

1. What size tank is this? Clown loaches need a lot of space, and a school.
2. What does "curing it manually" mean?

Aww I got ich when my clown tank got too cold and I immediately added in Ick Guard by Tetra (full strength) and upped the temperature to 82'F and it went away overnight.

However this sounds much worse. Get an ich medication, up the temperature, do a very thorough substrate vacuuming every day, and leave the lights in the tank off. Make sure whatever medication you use is safe for scaleless fish as clowns have no scales and are very sensitive. Don't use salt with them for this reason.

 

The fish passed away. I think it was already in the dying stages. I had 6 so now I have 5. Kine this is a 55 gallon and their were 6 but now their are five. I know that they should ideally have larger tanks however they are only ~3 in. and I have full arrangements with someone (who already has thousands of gallons of aquariums) that I can transfer them their in the future if they out grow the tank.

When I said curing it naturally I was in fact referring to that link which you provided and that was what I meant by cleaning it manually.

Feather fin, I may be able to get that medication...

The five remaining fish all have countless spots on them, however they aren't lying on their side yet so I'm still hoping...

 

Sounds like you still have time to save the others, then. I'm sorry you lost the first one already. Also, that's good you have arrangements to move the loaches when they get bigger, as they definitely will get bigger! I think they're adorable, I wish someone made minI clown loaches. I've not yet treated ich with medication, but my mom always had success using Nox-ich.
