Emergency! Betta Burned Himself On Heater!

My freakin betta burned himself somehow on the heater in my tank! I have no idea how because there's a heater guard and everything he must have really wedged himself nearby and refused to move I'll add a photo...he has had slow moving fin loss too for several months, that's why his fins look the way they do- and before anyone says anything I've tried absolutely every remedy available where I live and nothing has worked. He's in a ten gallon aquarium.
Is there anything I can do for him? he can swim okay and his eyes are fine that's just the flash reflecting off of them, the burn is the red spot on his back...

Hello fellow Albertian!
Never heard of a betta burning itself... mine love sitting next to the heater. Whats the temp at and what's it set too?
For the fin rot, is it still disappearing or have the fins stopped rotting? I found that daily %25-50 water changes help.
Ill call some people who can maybe help...

Poor guy. I would just add in some Stressguard as an antiseptic and to promote healing by binding to any open wounds, forming a liquid band aid. Also keep his water clean and pristine until it heals. There's nothing else you really can do besides that for a burn.

Edit: Aayyyyy it's another Albertian!

Hello...
Its set to keep the water just under 80° ...I think I have to put him down, I'm looking for clove oil right now, its so bad that his scales are pineconing, you can't see it in the photo, actually he can only float so I'm at a loss and I have no money to spend on medicines right now

Slow down a bit don't jump to that, he scales may be raising due to the burn swelling just like we get. Floating may be because he is stressed. Can you get us a photo from above?

Keep up with water changes, that's the main thing. Do 25-50% a day for two weeks. If they're not healed at the end of two weeks, try using malachite green as per the instructions on the package.

Good luck

Obviously he’s going to be stressed. It’ll heal in time. It’s not common for fish to get burned from the heaters but I have heard of it. Like others are saying give him plenty of clean water and he’ll be better. Can you post another picture of the betta?

Please do not put him down. He’s just stressed out and it will heal.

Unless your heater is malfunctioning, I’m thinking not a burn at all. Water parameters? Eating? A pic from above would be very helpful. What have you done for the fins? Any inverts in the tank?

He didn't survive the night it was too late to find any clove oil to end his suffering so I had to wait until morning, and he passed on his own.

It was definitely a burn. Theres no disease or infection looking like that that appears on an otherwise normal fish in a half hour.

He was energetic and full of spunk and will be missed
