Emerald/bronze Cory Not Eating

A couple weeks ago when I moved my fish into my new cycled tank I added 2 juliI cories and another emerald cory to join my existing emerald cory and 3 white skirt tetra. However, since i've done this my emerald cory seems very withdrawn and I don't think I've seen either bronze cory swim much or eat. They don't seem happy and my parameters seem to be good. Ammonia vacillates between .25 ppm and 0 depending on when I check it (before or after water changes) and nitrites is always at zero. Nitrates is between 5-10 ppm. Temperature is 75-77 Fahrenheit.

He is a little fat and I wonder if he's just overweight and not hungry. I did start trying to feed him better when I moved into the new tank, specifically shrimp pellets instead of generic flakes. I crush them up and sprinkle them into the tank. The tank is half sand and half gravel.

The JuliI Cories seem happy and I wonder if it's just the behavior of a different species. I also know I need to get them more buddies to feel more comfortable but he was alone before and very happy.

You have stocking issues, if you'd like to discuss them

Can you take a pic of the sick cory?

Having any ammonia isn't good, and it sounds like you're going through a minI cycle. I would do a water change any time you see ammonia, so not just necessarily weekly.

OK so I checked my water today and it seemed OK, I did an approximately 30% water change and the fish seemed pleased by it so far. The smaller emerald cory immediately started foraging in the sand.

He may just be full. He looks healthy though. He may also be stressed by the lack of others of his species in his tank, and your tank is likely not big enough to house 3 full schools of the three species of cories. I would choose one species, rehome the other two, and fill out the group.

Adding more emerald cory may get him up and about as for feeding try bloodworms or live food to check if he is tempted
Hope he eats soon !
Have a nice day
