Ember Tetra breeding?

I'm interested in getting a small school of Ember tetras but I don't know how they are when it comes to breeding? Anyone own these fish that can chime in?
I don't want the surprise of tetra fry in my tank.

The only tetras I've owned are Neons and they never had fry.

Most likely if they have any eggs or fry, they are most likely to get eatin by the parents and other members of the tank.

They will eat their fry. I've had mine for a couple months, a school of ten, and not had any fry.

Be weary getting these though. They are extremely shy and hide always, at least from my experience.

Shy?? not in my experience

I have an 85 gallon community tank with several species of fish in it. I had 20 Ember Tetras for a while and just recently added another 30. These fish are far from shy. They swim in almost every area of my tank, mostly alone or in small groups going about their business. Only if you spook them by a sudden bang on the glass or doing work in the water they tend to school up together and just swim in a school. I have not found them in any way to want to hide. The sometimes will school with my Cardinal Tetras as well. Soon I plan on attempting to breed these beautiful fish.
I will post the results of my attempt to breed them.

If you find these in your pet store I suggest to buy at least 10. They are not a common find, very much on the rare side.
