Ember Tetra Advice

Hello all...

I'm not particularly new but just asking some advice please. Just did a 20% water change... params are all normal but ember tetras behaving strangely... or out of the norm at least.

Whilst usually they tend to mull around in their school at mid level, since water change they're schooling into the current the filter's making. I know that Embers don't like to be bashed around too much by the current because of their size but given there are areas in the tank that are low current they seem to be doing it by choice??

I fed them (this always seems to me a good indicator of health... if theyre willing to eat they aren't at deaths door ) and they went straight back to current surfing!!

Any ideas?

Ta!

Hmmm...are you sure you dechlorinated the water you added?

They may be excited by the fresh water. A number of fish seem to behave this way and I have experienced it with my fish also. I believe that in nature the rain may stimulate them to spawn.

Yeah that's my thinking.... a few hours have passed and they seem to have calmed down.... obviously realised that road leads to nowhere ;-)
