I just found a shrimp with Ellobiopsidae. It's from a batch I purchased. I currently have her in a plastic food container floating in my aquarium, with tannis water and a tiny bit of salt. Anybody know anything useful about it? Thanks, Shrimpgeek

I know nothing about shrimp diseases, but it would be a miracle if water from the QT container (and thus the disease you mentioned) did not sooner or later get into the main tank. I'd set up a separate quarantine setup promptly before it spreads to your other shrimp.

EDIT: I did some quick research and learned that the 'Ellobiopsidae' found in Neocaridina shrimp is actually a parasitic algae known as Cladogonium ogishimae. See here;

The article mentions some possible treatments, but since it is an algae I wonder if darkening out the quarantine tank would be helpful?

Oh, yes, I read that. Thanks! I was thinking about trying that... I'll see what I can do.
