Product: Elite Stingray 5

Description: A internal filter that suction cups on to the inside of the tank. 38 gph and according to the box can go up to 5 gallons. Has two foam pads and two zeolite and carbon inserts. I replaced the carbon and zeolite inserts with filter fiber since they are mixed together, just rinse the filter fiber and re-use. Picture included what it looks like

Pros: EXTREMELLY quiet, cannot even hear it unless I'm put my ear to the tank, can change what direction the output is going. Easy to clean, cleans the water extremely well and keeps it crystal clear, no need to buy filter inserts, just keep re-using

Cons: None

EXCELLENT FILTER, nothing bad about it

they are actaully amazing filters. I have them in various sizes the 5,10, and 15 I use them as power heads as they are quieter and they have a dial on where you can change where the water flows.

I don't know where you can buy them since I don't live there but I got mine at pet supplies plus, also have seen them at lfs and petco. Most stores should carry them, just look around for the best deal on them. Should find them most anywhere.

I have one of these in my 15 gal. I recommmend it! its very quiet and does the job! when water stirred up after moving plants etc it clears the water very quickly. easy to disassemble and re-assemble and clean, and replacement filter pads are readily available when ever the time comes! - I got it as part of a tank set up kit so it was quite by chance! i'd def buy choose to buy another if only they did them big enough for my other tanks!

I'd just like to add that the Stingray5 is too powerful for anything smaller than a 5 gallon and would not recommend it for those applications. It does a fantastic job cleaning a tank, but without the adjustable flow rate it really moves the water around, even with the direction pointed towards the tank wall or into plants. I had one in my 2.5 gallon and it stressed my female betta like crazy.

hmm, guess it depends on the tank, I had mine in a 2.5 for some time and it worked fine, I just made a flow blocker for it.

Just bought this filter (stingray10) for my 7.5gall tank. Am going to try it tomorrow, I hope it'll work ok in my tank - I don't get a lot of luck with filters! lol
