I hate to ask this but are you sure they are all female? Labs are so hard to tell apart, I brought home what I thought was 2 more females and a male, I ended up w/ 2 males and 2 female labs. I actually sold my breeding group and shipped them out yesterday keeping one of my males I call ol yeller (hes the oldest fish in my tank and I think the most handsome).

The ones I bought were adults as well. If they are for sure females w/ the one male it may be like my group of hongI breeders the females are always in a tiff. I would give it a few days and see how it goes, move the rocks/caves around so they all have to re-establish territories.

The male could just be flirting right now as well, the females will look like their full of eggs around their analfin you will actually see the eggs come out of the female, drop on a rock while the male/female are going in a head to tail circle she will get the you know what in her mouth and then pick up the egg and fertilize it, they do this until all the eggs are fertilized one by one and in her mouth.

If your talking about ol yeller yep, hes loaded w/ personallity that's why I kept him. I am actually turning my 55 into a "show" tank instead of for breeding. Its for all my fav cichilds.

That's def spawning behavior. My hongi's are awlful my females are holding right now and they all look like they have been through a shredder where the other females fight. I end up treating the tank w/ melafix after they spawn and separate the females.

I had the group on aquabid and deleted the auction because they spawned last night. I think I am going to have to break up the "group" and sell them split up, I would hate for someone else to deal w/ this headache.
