I just came home and noticed my eb female laid her first batch of eggs I was going to set up my new 55 gal. Tank tonight to move my other rams out of the tank but I ran out of time... This is my first batch and their first batch so any input would be awesome! I have 3 other eb rams in the tank besides the two parents and two gbr's also male and female. And I have 1 male eb and 4 females... I'm sure I'm guna loose all these babies bc of all the other fish in the tank right? I did a water change right before I noticed the eggs otherwise I probably wouldn't have done the wc. Can anyone give me tips or ideas to help keep these babies alive? Thanks!

How do I artificially hatch the eggs? And how long do I gotta wait to move them ? Do I put them in a container with a bubbler ? How will the water stay warm with no heater? Pls share all ur knowledge and tips etc. Thank u so much! They look like great parents one stays with the eggs at all times n when the other one comes back the other leaves? They hatched at 1130 pm last night.

If they have hatched then you should just see how it goes . Wigglers /fry are not well suited to being moved .
I hatch my eggs in a Dip & Pour that I hang in the tank with an airstone. I steal eggs late day 1 or 2 add 1 drop of methylene blue to D&P and wait for them to hatch.
Breeding and hatching rams is fairly simple. Raising rams is a whole other story IMO.

I have all the eggs that are on a big piece of driftwood they laid the eggs18 hours ago. Do u think the male fertilized them already? I have a thing u hang on the inside of Ur tank so u think I should put them in there? Try to fit the driftwood so that the eggs are submerged in the water of the tank they were laid in? If I can find methane blue I'll buy some. Where can I buy this at? And what's the reason for putting methane blue in with them? The thing I have that hangs inside the tank has small holes on the sides of the hanger. So if I add methane blue or will leak into my tank with all the other fish is that OK ? So if I take them n put it in the hanger on day two I should be fine and know they were fertilized ? Thank you so much for your help. Your the only one who responded and is helping me. Very much appreciated. I need to do some research to learn about methane blue and how to use it correctly. The hanger u use does it have holes one the sides? Or is it fully enclosed?

The dip and pour is totally sealed[no holes] .
The MB keeps most eggs from fungus. Fish stores used to carry it but many don't now .
Ram wigglers /fry are small so the holes will be a problem along with the MB leaking out.
If the eggs turn white in the next 24 hours they are not fertile. If they stay amber then they are good.
If the male fertilized the eggs he did it as the female laid them so they have had enough time to be done either way.

I'm guna buy a container like they use a LFS when u buy a fish they add the water then put the fish in it then dump it in the bag but I'm guna have it hanging in the water to keep the temp the same and the mb won't leak out. If I can't find one wat do u think about me using the container with holes in it and using a fish bag inside of it to hold in water and the mb? Would this work or just try to find one with no holes? Please forgive my ignorance but what's dip and pour? Lol and how do I do it? Is there anyway to get egss off the driftwood into a container? Like siphon them into the container and put moss in it or something like that? I may be able to fit the bottom piece of driftwood in the container so the eggs are fully submerged into water and the other half of driftwood is sticking out. I'm going to to another store to try to buy a sealed fish container to hang in the water. Then after their born can I put them in a hanger ney basket thing? Like a week after they are already swimming? Also where can I buy live baby brine shrimp? I'm guna get a5 gal tank n breed brine shrimp soon I watched a video on You tube last night and see a guy do it. What do u think. Thanks do much for Ur help!

Just hatch brine shrimp in a 2 liter bottle.I hatch 3 batches a day when breeding.
I order my D&P from Kens or whoever has them cheapest.
Toms and Lee make the "specimen containers" that I use . I get the large.
Don't scrape the eggs.
I use a terra cotta pot bottom[saucer] for my rams to lay eggs on.
If you take the eggs the pair will breed again sooner[possibly 7-13 days] and you can be better prepared.
If you leave the eggs it could easily be 2-4 weeks before they breed again.
Try floating a Tupperware container that fits the wood this time.

Flat, smooth slate rocks also work. That's what I use. Then put cover around it. Rams will lay eggs in the flattest area they can find.

Yea that's what I was guna do but I came home from work and sadly found out snails ran over my eggs and half are gone now! I was not prepared for eggs at all! I'm having a snail issue I just read last night that this could happen but I didn't think it would in two days! Smh... Some eggs are white and some are kinda clearish beige looking. Which ones are the healthy ones ? If any...

I'm going tonight to buy what I need to put the eggs in but still can't find methane blue... Hopefully atleast some eggs will b ok and hatch.

What's d and p? Dip and pour cam anybody explain this to me please and thank u!

D&P= Dip and Pour ;

The clearish eggs are the good ones ,white ones bad.
Don't bother trying to remove the bad ones ,the good eggs should hatch tomorrow.
You don't need the Methylene blue this time if the eggs have not fungus yet.
