Electric Blue Acara Staying at bottom of tank

Cajun56

My electric blue acara has recently started to stay at the bottom of my tank. It stated about 2 days ago. I think it has ich so I started treating yesterday and will for the next 3 days. I have 2 of them and only one does this and they both may have ich. It will swim around and act normal when it comes out and it eats normal just fed and everything was normal. Idk if it's the ich or something else.

How are you treating the ich? You are going to have to treat for longer than 3 days.

What else is in the tank?
What is the temp of your tank?
Are you in Australia?

(I don't know of many Cajuns down under but still good to ask)

I'm using imagitarium parasite remedy and it says to treat 3 doses every other day. And right now my temp is at 83 I've been raising it 2 degrees per day the last 2 days. And I have quite a bit more fish in the tank alot to list. And no I'm not I'm Australia

Im not familiar with that med in particular but I am familiar with ich and its life cycle which is several phases over several days (more than 3).
The heat will speed this up.
The white spots will burst and millions of tiny baby ich and will fly out into the water....that is when they need to die and not when they are in the "white spot stage".

Can you/have you dosed any salt? Salt and heat is really all you need to treat this. If that doesn't work then I would look into meds like ich-X etc but i haven't ever needed to.

If you can dose salt and you get your temp up to 84-85 I would keep that combo going for atleast a week to 10 days after all the white spots dissapear. Make sure you do some good deep gravel vacuuming during this time to catch anything that settles in the substrate.
