I have a pair of electric blue acara and they just layed a ton of eggs today. I am sitting here and notice that they keep splashing the water. I looked at they are going at it. They are locking lips. Is this normal? They didn’t do this with the other eggs they laid.

I have been breeding EBA for awhile and yes they will get into squabbles at times. Just keep an eye on them, if it gets to bad they can damage each other. One of their first spawns the male tore the females lip. All healed up.
So, now I normally remove the male, once the eggs hatch into wigglers.

Good Luck!

Thanks! The same happened to mine. The female got her lip ripped but she is healed too. It’s a community tank so I can’t really move the male. I just try to get as many as I can!
