Eggs shells.

So I've read quite a few things about eggs shells in your tank. I'm not sure if I should do it or not. I want to hear it from someone who has done it. How many eggs worth of shells should I put in a 50 gallon tank? Should I do anything to shells? Boil? Steam? Should I even do it?

What is your reasonfor wanting egg shells in your tank? Do you have mystery snails that need the calcium? If you do then cuttle bone in your filter or tank can also do the trick. Or calcium drops.

Yep extra calcium is good for their shells!!! I never got around to putting egg shells in my filter, but I believe you just clean them and put them in the filter, not sure about boiling. You could always use cuttlebone. In the filter the current will wash over the bone and put calcium in the tank. I have some in my tank, my snails "eat" some of the cuttlebone when they want, and one piece in my filter.
