Hello, I'm doing a project for school involving research for this subject, I have already done lots of research but it seems as it is not a commonly discussed topic, there are very few dependaple sites with good information, so I would just like to see your point of view on it, and the negative affects along with the good effects

I think you are going to get a bunch of opinions on this :) Which could be good for your project I assume.....

Heres mine....I had to use salt once in my years of keeping fish...it was for gill flukes...when I did use it, it was minimal...I did see the fish react to the salt as I do when I swim at the beach and I might have a boo boo on me...almost as if it stung them a bit....but, at the time, it was my last resort and I had to try something....

My opinion on salt is that its an irritant to most FW fish and it makes them produce more slime coat to keep it off them...I dont choose to use it, but many do....
