Hello all, I'm rather excited about this one. After my initial failure with a betta, I decided to try once more and today, I went to the Fish Store and there was the betta I had been dreaming of! He's beaurtiful, a half-moon Mustard Gas and he is very active compared to my first betta which is a good sign! I'm yet to notice any problems and he is very curious of his 4 gallon home As for names, me and my friend were discussing names for one if it were a dark betta or a brightly coloured betta. A dark one would have been called Shadow and a brightly coloured one would have been called subburst. I think the name Sunburst is rather suiting as his tail is an orangey yellow. Any ibformation is greatly appreciated on betta care, whether a tip from experience or stories from your betta experiences. I am glad to be back in the betta community once again!
Edit: after seeing the picture it appears as if he has bloat, he doesn't, it's just his fin mid flap!

He's gorgeous! Could we see a picture of his tank?

Most bettas like little caves to hide in and lounging on broad leaf plants near the surface so I'd get some of those if you haven't already! They make a faux "leaf hammock" for bettas with a suction cup that my betta likes to use too.

Here's his tank at the moment, I have some Kuhlis in there temporarily as there is some strong medication in my other tank which is harmful to them. Thinking ahead!

Ahhh beat me to it! He's gonna love it in there and I'm glad he isn't bothering the kuhlis

Yeah the betta has had a few smacks to his face from over enthusiastic Kuhlis! Lchi87

Haha! I have kuhlis too; they're quite cheeky at times and at one point I did try to keep my betta there with them temporarily (I was trying to cycle a new tank for him) but he instantly went into attack mode and wouldn't leave them alone! He even picks on the snails!

I guess I'm lucky! My betta seems to be very docile but I will have to wait and see what his true behaviour is when he's settled in.

He's a beaut! Are you keeping the Kuhlis in for long? They need a 20 gallon long minimum.

Flowingfins I know right! They are just adorable! Platylover I'm coming to the end of my treatment and then they are going in my 29 gallon community.
