Echinodorus plant ALWAYS dies???

iamgoldfish

I have a problem in my 75 litre coldwater goldfish tank- I love the echinodorus plant and it is always cheaper at my pet store, but several times I have introduced it to my tank, and within a few weeks-a month, the leaves develop black patches then die. One I bought last week (in the ) has already started going black and soon it will be all black, no green, and I'll have to throw another one out I've had to turn to fake plants and other weedy live plants, but none look as good as echinodorus.
Is there maybe something in the water or gravel that affects them this way?

Echinodorus is a tropical plant (75-82F, or 24-28C) so it's likely dying from the cold water. Otherwise, it could be a magnesium deficiency in the plant.
