Ebjd Wont Eat!

Can someone help me in identifying why my EBJD won't eat its starting to get concerning.

The fish is 13cm long and seems very timid

I purchased this fish 5 days ago and added him to my aquarium where he picked a fight with my electric blue acara which he lost. There has been no aggression since then and the acara leaves him alone. He has not eaten a single thing since I purchased him, I offered him the food his previous owner fed him (hikarI carnivore pellets) I offered him frozen foods and live black worms and he doesn't even so much as look at them. His belly is kind of sunken and I only realised once I got him home and had a closer look, could this be a sign of any other problems other than lack of food?

My tanks water parameters are all in perfect check the temp has been going up a bit lately to around the 30-32 degrees celcius mark due to hot weather here in australia.

Does anyone have any idea why he won't eat or any suggestions on how to get him to eat? Please help!

It sounds like having lost the fight, he's beaten. A dempsey without a territory is lost.

So will he just starve himself or what? Should I remove the acara for a while and see if he shapes up?

If he comes out to eat, the acara will hammer him. He knows that. I doubt they can live in the same tank.

That's the thing there's no aggression what so ever. The acara doesn't attack him at all shes very placid. He just won't come out or eat. Shes swam over to him
on countless occasions and sat on the bottom of the tank with him, there hasnt been fighting since he lost the first one
