Ebay bettas? Is it safe or a scam?

Hello FishLore!
I was thinking of breeding two samurai plakat bettas, a samurai X koi and an average koi plakats, and some galaxy nemo koi plakats! I want to get the galaxy nemo koi plakats off Ebay. Is that safe? They had some gorgeous, fairly priced bettas on there. If any of you have experience or someone you buy from on Ebay, I would love to know! Did the fish come sick, wrong (picture lied), dead, or in perfect condition? Was the shipping package warm/ safe?
Any responses are highly appreciated, thanks!
(small peek at george being stunning:emoji_heart::emoji_gift_heart:)
Blurry (sorry).

He is very pretty! It depends on who you buy it from. Some people have very nice fish, and are delivered safely. While others will deliver the wrong fish, or just not deliver at all. Maybe someone could answer your question better than me, but thats my opinion. :)

That I will have to agree with, he’s gorgeous! I would read some reviews, if you haven’t already. If they seem good, go for it!

i have only bought fish on ebay. bettas, mostly, but sldo peapuffers, pygmy cory’s, snails and live food. a previous poster was correct in saying some are vendors are better than others. look for vendors with overwhelmingly positive ratings, and postings with photos, and video of the fish swimming.

i’ve bought on ebay from domestic vendors, and vendors in thailand who use transhippers. follow the guidelines above, that were made through bad experiences as well as good, and you’ll be fine!

Thanks for the help, both of you. I think I'm gonna wait a little before buying anything, but it's good to have the extra assurance!

I buy a lot of fishes on ebay (not betta); the quality depends a lot on the individual seller and not on if it is from 'ebay'. There are some very experience hobbyist and some well known stores as well as a lot of in experience hobbyist and a few scammers. If you look at the reviews try to also examine who is doing the reviews and the context of the reviews.

I've bought a betta on Ebay before, he was great, but there was some communication problems, but nothing wrong with the fish itself.
