Dwarf Shrimp Questions

I am fairly new to keeping shrimp, and have successfully been keeping 5 Red Cherry Shrimp in my 5.5 gallon planted tank. I have been looking at some Blue Velvet Shrimp, and was wondering if it would be bad to have 2 different types of shrimp in the same aquarium. Thanks!

You can have both kinds in the same tank, however, there is a good chance the offspring will be brown and wild colored. If you are ok with that then it is no problem!

Ok thanks! I was just wondering if mixing them would lead to genetic issues or something

I don't think so! You may want to replace some a couple years down the road so they don't get to inbred! But don't take that as law as I am a little unsure about it!!

Sorry to ask so many questions, but would 5 RCS and 5 Blue Vevlets be overstocked?

No I think that would be totally fine! Could probably have up to 20/30 in there before it would seem crowded!!
