Dwarf hamster escaped!!!!

I lost my dwarf hamster sometime yesterday but I didn't know until today. Help!!! I looked around my bedroom and can't find him. I've also looked into the other rooms and living and dining room. I know that they are nocturnal and that the best shot is at night time but I hope he isn't dead. The problem is he most likely is sleeping in a dark area thus making it harder. When my gerbils escaped they made lots of noises and pooped everywhere thus making them easier to find. They also ran around so we were able to find them. My hamster, named Mr.Pepper doesn't poop as much and is very quiet. He also doesn't chew.

Most importantly, put his cage on the floor and leave the door open. That's his safe place and he will be drawn to it when he is tired/hungry/etc. If you check periodically, you might find him sleeping in his favorite spot.

I recommend posting on a hamster specialty board like Hamster Hideout. There are a lot of people there who live and breathe hamsters.

Yeah I have a bin cage. I was going to even ask my parents if I could get a 40 breeder this weekend but I guess that's not happening until I find him.

I'd still find a way so that he could access his cage if he wanted. I've used pillows in the past that were propped up to be an upward slope into the bin and then one pillow going down into the cage with a very steep slope.

I agree with making access to the cage available. You could leave a little trail of food and up and into the cage, not a lot but just a few pieces to lure him back in. Alison

RIght now I'm setting up little houses(cardboard box, huts, hidaways) and putting bedding, shredded tissues and toilet paper, and a bit of food. I'm adding flower aroun it to try to track where he went.

After 2 long days I found him, gonna need to clean him and make sure he is healthy after he's been on the storage/ basement where there is dust, cobwebs, dirty crumbs, and who know what else

Aww he looks sorry or he is not happy about the thought of a bath. Poor baby. I am so glad you found him safe and alive. What is his or her name? Alison

Yep he probably is kind of mad and scared. His name is Mr.Pepper. Hopefully my parents will let me buy a 40 breeder since know he knows what freedom is and how big the world out side his cage is. I'm going to leave him for a day in his cage so he can get use to it again. Before I try to bother him and try to pick him up again.
