HI there.
The other day I bought a pair of dwarf gouramis for my my community tank (4 cardinal tetras and 5 platies)
Today I already caught the gouramis mating, the female swimming to the male and swirling around eachother. Then the male gawping up air and small plants and doing stuff in the corner of the tank. I figure he's making a bubble nest.
What is the best course of action now to protect the fry? The location he's picked is thickly covered with tiny green surface plants. So far the male is staying in that location and seems to be defending it from platies getting too close.
I think the tank is large enough (63 gallon) so far I'm not worried about his territorial behavior, he chases them off from the corner and leaves them alone elsewhere.
Should I just let things run their course? Or should I trap the eggs from underneath with a breeding box?
