Dwarf gouramis mating

HI there.
The other day I bought a pair of dwarf gouramis for my my community tank (4 cardinal tetras and 5 platies)

Today I already caught the gouramis mating, the female swimming to the male and swirling around eachother. Then the male gawping up air and small plants and doing stuff in the corner of the tank. I figure he's making a bubble nest.

What is the best course of action now to protect the fry? The location he's picked is thickly covered with tiny green surface plants. So far the male is staying in that location and seems to be defending it from platies getting too close.

I think the tank is large enough (63 gallon) so far I'm not worried about his territorial behavior, he chases them off from the corner and leaves them alone elsewhere.

Should I just let things run their course? Or should I trap the eggs from underneath with a breeding box?

Could you place a pic of the pair ?

Personally I am afraid you've two males.

Made a video, could take a couple of moments before it works, it still says processing.

I would let it play out, like you say it's in a big aquarium but if a bunch survive you're going to have a tank full of aggressive fish. I've heard they become intolerant of their siblings quite young. Interesting experience though congratulations?

Yeah great stuff: definitely a pair and looking to mate methinks.

I would just let it play out - otherwise can transfer them to a breeding tank with few inches of water yadda Yadda...

I was confused as until I realised it was in portrait mode: took me a while (need my morning coffee!)

You're definitely right !!! They're mating !
Be sure the female has hidingplaces. Otherwise she might be killed afterwards.
The male will take care of the eggs and protect the nest / eggs.
Not quite easy to take care for in a community.
