Dwarf Gourami Pink Spot

Hi all,

I've just noticed a pink spot on the head of my Dwarf Gourami (see picture attached). Is this something to worry about? No ammonia or nitrites in the water, low nitrate. He's eating fine. He has been going through periods of rushing from one end of the tank to the other over and over (maybe the spot is a cut from him bumping his head doing that?) but he isn't doing it right now. Could it be Dwarf Gourami disease? I hope not!

There is no treatment for dwarf gourami diseases and it is contagious to other gourami. i don't know if it is contagious to all gourami species though. Sorry.

I don't have any other Gouramis in there thankfully so not worried about that. Should I euthanise him or wait in case he gets better?

I personally dont euthinize fish that are still eating. I can not tell you what to do. If it acts like it is struggling to survive, Thats no good either.

OK thanks that makes sense. I'll just keep an eye on him for now.

Agree. Euthanise when things worsen ans it starts struggling.

There is always a possibility I gave a wrong diagnose, so that shouldn't be the reason to do so immediately.

OK thanks. He's been acting normal since and he's still eating.
