Dwarf Gourami or Honey Gourami?

I'm debating whether I should get a Dwarf Gourami or a Honey Gourami. I know if I get a Dwarf Gourami I can only keep one but I've also heard that Honey Gouramis are really, really timid and will get bullied by bigger tankmates. Which would you guys recommend? The tank I have is a 29 gallon with 2 amano shrimps and 1 harlequin rasbora (Only survivor of a bad batch) in it.

I had both dg and honey gouramis and I like honeys myself. They are hardy and you can get more than one.

I had 3 in my 29, 2 golden and 1 red and yes they are timid but I didn't notice bullying from other fish.

You shouldn't have bullying problems in your tank- your fish are very "nice" and I can't imagine them bullying a fish that's bigger than them.

I had 3 honeys the male kind picked on the others the fist couple weeks, as he had been in there by himself. he later calmed down and everyone got along fine. I later lost the male and the bigger female bullied the other to death before I noticed. so just keep in mind there can still be aggression. I did like my honeys much more than the flame gourami I had.

If your willing, go with the honeys. Much hardier fish.

I myself would get a honey gourami. They are very active and have never bothered my CPDs (a very timid fish). They bring a lot of color to my tank.

This video convinced me honeys are the way to go.

If I got one that acted like this that would be adorable.

I had a honey gourami that lived with white clouds, otos and some shrimp. They are peaceful little critters. They also stay a tad smaller than DG full grown. With DG sometimes aggression issue can arise depending on the individual personality of the DG, but in general honeys are much better suited for a community setup.

They are not extrememly shy fish but do like to have some cover in their tanks, floating plants are good. They are very peaceful and will get along well with other fish.
