Dwarf Gourami and floating plants

I'm thinking of getting some Dwarf Gouramis and I was wondering if I need to get floating plants for them!

Please answer back asap

You don't need floating plants, but they feel more comfortable with them in the tank, so it is your call.

Plus it will provide them with some cover which they like and which is like their native habitat where they are in ponds with lots of floating and submerged plants

If fish are born in a tank shouldn't they like the tank because that's what they where born in.

Breeding behaviours(like blowing bubbles in floating plants) and some inate defensive behaviours(looking for places to sleep and hide) are just carried down in their genes. Some adult fish teach their babies how to behave even in tanks.

My dwarf gourami dug up 3 of the plants in my tank. After about the 3rd or 4th time of replanting them I gave up... let him have the floating plants.
