Dwarf Baby Tears plus Driftwood- how to attach? Advice?

I have potted baby tears and baby tears grown on a plantable mat coming in the mail this week. I also bought baby tears already grown on a piece of driftwood that will arrive at the same time. My hope is to grow some on the ground as well as on the two large pieces of Malaysian driftwood I am re-scaping with.

Anyone have a tried and true method? Would you stuff the bare roots of the potted stuff into a crevice? Would you tie the plantable mat on with fishing line?

I have theories aplenty rolling around in my brain, but if anyone has experience, I'd LOVE to hear all about it.

I assume you are talking about hemianthus callitrichoides or HC.
I would tie the mat down myself but be prepared for a headache. The stuff just loves to float.

Yes , I am talking about HC- I know it floats! I got some awhile ago and wow, what a pain! But I like the way it looks, and I'm going in to this with a little more experience this time

I planted some hc in what is the hardest substraight iv ever planted in. the only way I could get it to stay was...

I know most cut it into little sections and plant it all around. I had 2 pots I just kept it in two pieces and ran a plant weight through the roots. that is the only way I could get it to stay. its doing great now it has spread a lot and is pearling.

as far trying to tie it I have never done it but just wrap the string around a bunch just like java moss, it shouldnt be to hard. planting it is the hard part, depending on your substraight.

Thanks! I am thinking I might grab some sand I have that matches my substrate and dump a handful on top of what I plant to help hold it down and fill in the cracks. The bummer about this plant is that when you do get it to pearl, the pearling wants to pull it up! I am determined to make it work this time lol!
