Hello I have a question and hoping for some insight from fellow betta parents. I was wondering in your opinion what is the best dry food to feed your betta I at the moment am using hikarI betta bio gold pellets for Malcolm which are nearly gone and HoudinI has hakarI tropical micro pellets as the other are too big for his little mouth I also have aquarian tropical flakes but which is the best I vary their diet a lot and am looking to replace Malcolm's pellets. Any suggestions would be greatly received thank you

I feed a mix of NLS small pellet,Omega 1 betta pellets, and Cobalt pellets and all them love them.

Good afternoon,

I use NLS for all of my fish along with a variety of others. I don't think you would go wrong by choosing NLS foods in the link below:

Above is also small enough for Bettas.

Very nice. Read the ingredients on the NLS and compare to what you were feeding

Thought I would update on my boys new food HoudinI loves the pellets and the flakes and his colour is really coming through and he flared at me for the first time last night it was so cute didn't have my camera to hand though I'll get him next time. Malcolm is a little unsure about the flake and has been spitting the new pellets out but has eaten a little so I shall continue to be persistent with him

Hey Eienna yeah he loves it which is nice to see and he is a little piggy Malcolm is usually but he has been a bit poorly of late so maybe he is just recovering he's a million times better and is eating a little I don't think he is a fan of change where as HoudinI will eat anything caught him trying to eat a silk plant last night

I'm feeding NLS pellets for my betta. The first few days my female betta had some issues in swallowing, but yesterday she managed to successfully eat two of the pellets.

HoudinI had a bit of an issue with a larger pellet last night but he just swam around with it in his mouth like a dog with a bone as if to say "it's mine and you can't take it off me" it was really funny then he eventually spat it out went at it from a different angle and wolfed it down and then proceeded to beg for more bless him. They both love them

That's excellent news she'll get used to them it still takes longer to feed HoudinI than Malcolm

She is thank goodness. I'm finding these betta food topics helpful.

I did try doing the NLS Thera + A Regular fomula, but they would sink too fast and she missed them. The betta pellets don't sink too fast and she seems to swim after them if they do start to sink. ;D

my boys are loving them now and HoudinI doesn't have any issue with them anymore although he did swim around with one in his mouth yesterday as if to say its mine all mine until I wagged my finger at him and he ate it little monkey he wasn't having any problems with it he was just being troublesome Malcolm generally won't eat anything that falls to the floor so I feed him one at a time so they don't sink and HoudinI will eat anything anywhere glad to hear she is enjoying them
