Dry Banana Leaves

BillynJennifer

I have a HUGE amount of dry banana leaves. Can I use them as leaf litter?

I have never used it but I believe the answer is yes. Banana leaves are used in cooking, though they are not eaten. (Not because they are toxic, just too tough to chew). Some say they can be eaten, so it should be at least safe.

I have read people saying they have a similar effect as catappa leaves in an aquarium, so you may be sitting on a gold mine.

I'm going to try it and see how it goes.
