Drones, who else is in to them?

I just got my drone in June ( it was the BEST birthday gift ever! ) and I am totally hooked!

Its a DJI Phantom 3 Standard ( not the cheapest but not the top of the line )

Anyone else? I've only taken it up about 300 feet and keeping it in line of sight until I can get more experience. I just bought some accessories ( Hard case, Gimball protector, Blade Protector, 128 GB SD card, Extra Battery, 3 lenses )
Oh I can seriously put more $$$$ in to this

Now you got me curious - I will have to check out that youtuber. Thanks

Any one else or am I the only drone flyer here that also happens to love fish?

Haha you just might be!

- I am on the drone forum - I haven't posted anything yet, just might have to but it seems like it's a "Boys" sport. Just lurking. Kind of intimidating! LOL

LOL - I am changing my gender and user name so I don't come off as a "girl"
I really am interested in the sport or whatever you call it and info so don't want it to become a pickup sort of thing........

When I was young we called them remote control planes. I still love them today. Although now I like helicopters

For some reason when people see them they think there being spied on. Like the world is really interested in what there doing lol. Well keep casting and I hope you catch one. One less drone spying on ya.

I started training on a DJI Tello.

20180925_154516.jpg

Will start flying one of these soon.

20180504_120630.jpg

It is an older custom unit with a fixed GoPro and FLIR.

The sister unit has a GoPro on a gimbal but no FLIR.

Hopefully by next year, we will have 2 DJI Matrice units with dual gimbals.

I have a DJI Mavic Pro as well, but haven't gotten many chances to fly it just yet, because the weather this year has either been swelteringly hot ("it's too hot outside to hang around in the sun and fly a drone, I'll have to do it later this week...") or cold and cloudy where the colours of the landscape aren't brought out as much as they are in the sun. Now that the leaves are changing to brilliant reds and oranges, I'm hoping that there will be just one day where it's suitable drone weather, but it's calling for rain and cold for a week straight so we'll have to see... :/

If you guys want to learn how to fly a quad and not crash your $$$$$ quad/drone, try a Hubsan X4. $25 and flies very well. Small enough to fly indoors if the weather isn't good.

When I said learning to fly I really mean getting the guts to let it get out of sight. It really flys easy it’s just flying it when you can’t see it and your using the iPhone to follow it. Furthest I flown is 2000 ft away. The thing goes a mile and a half. The mavic pro goes almost 4 miles. Takes some time to get used to it.lol.

Just got it so just local pictures. Still learning how to fly.
What brand you got because it does take some clear shots better than some cameras.

The air is about a 1000. An older pro would be 600-1000. The new pro is about 1600.
