Driving With Fish Over 6 Hours

Hello! This question is two parts:
1. I am going to have an empty large tank soon as I am moving around my current fish and redesigning tanks. I may be buying a singly fancy goldfish for a cold water tank soon. The thing is there are no local stores that sell healthy goldfish but there is a store that sells nice fish and it’s about 2.5 hours from me. I was thinking of making the trip down to purchase a fancy goldfish there (most likely a black moor). My question is how should I best transport this fish with me in the car?
2. I am taking in my sister’s betta, white cloud minnows, and Kuhli loaches, as she is moving across the country. I live 5 hours from her but I will need to stop (lunch restroom etc) making the trip closer to 6 hours. How should I travel with these fish and her tank- I will need to keep the substrate moist to preserve the BB and her filter will be kept moist as well. Each type of fish will be in their own bag- can anyone recommend a type of bag etc? I will put the fish in their tank within their individual bags. And should I cover their tank with a blanket?
Thanks everyone! I’ve never done this before so any recommendations and suggestions would be wonderful! I also plan to drop acclimate the new fish once they reach home.

Sounds like an OK plan. I would maybe wrap a blanket around, might help keep the bags a bit warmer.

Put the bags in a cooler with bubble wrap to minimize bags being tossed abt with every car movement. Get larger bags if possible and be sure to have abt. half or so with air. Your pet shop might give or sell you bags to use.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll ask for some bags

Ok thanks! I think I may even get an insulated box

I have transported fish on all day trips multiple times. In fact only a few days ago I had a trip to Sydney.

Bags are to have 3/4 air and 1/4 water. A good shop will provide oxygen to fill the bags instead of air. Although I have only used air myself. A Sydney auction is over 24 hours bag time for fish .

A hot water bottle inside the polystyrene box / cooler is helpful in cold weather.

In my country it is a requirement to use corner less bags. Use whatever your shop has. Be careful with breathable bags they require different conditions.
