Driftwood

So I found this piece of driftwood

and I’d like to add it to the tank but it just won’t absorb water or sink. Had it tied to a 6+lb rock to hold it down but after 2 weeks it popped right back up. I mean it’s gotlike a waterproof center. Found it on the beach (salt water) months ago. Tried sinking it twice with no luck. Any body have an idea what to do to sink it?

You could screw it to a piece of slate? Drill holes in the side you aren't going to see?

It would have to be a big piece of slate. This is what I used to try to water log it.

this rock weighs over 6lbs other rock just floated with it lol.

Well that is one buoyant piece of wood! Maybe glue it to that rock somehow...lol
