Drift Wood won't sink

Hayden2205

I recently purchased a large piece of drift wood and it will not sink I've scrubbed it and I have soaked it and it will still not sink. What should I do?

Hello!
It takes time for driftwood to become water-logged and stay down on it's own. It depends on how large is large. I had a larger piece that I put in my 20 gallon hex tank that went all the way up the tank (24") and it had a slate base. Even with the slate base, and sand on top of it, I still had to use some rocks to keep it in place for a couple of weeks.

How long have you soaked it? Sometimes it seems to take a long time. I had a branch from the beach and it never sank.

You should be able to hold it down with rocks, also you can attach it to a rock with tie wrap that can easily be hidden.
